Helping the Needy with Saris - 'Saris for Good Karma'

Story from South Africa - An entrepreneur had an idea of turning old saris that maybe were sitting in the closet for years into something for the needy. According to the article, 12 women have already been picked to take part in a year long venture to create accessories with the saris, then train others in the community. The products made from them will eventually be sold in stores. Nice idea.

Kanchana Moodliar, the woman behind this, is working with designer Haroun Hansrot for this project.
