Knitted Christmas Tree: Pretty for Christmas & Useful Afterlife

If you're wondering what 1200 knitted woolen squares will get you if you put them all together - think of a 10 foot Christmas tree with all the trimmings.

Three different knitting circles came together and knitted over a thousand green squares over a nine month period. These were all put together to form a Christmas tree. It will be on display until Christmas Eve at St Aldhelm’s Church in Poole, Dorset, UK. After that time, the tree will get double duty. All the squares will be stitched together to form knitted blankets to be given to charity for people in Sri Lanka and Romania. Beautiful on so many levels.
